New York City Mayor: Manhattan shooting suspect targeted NFL headquarters.
On July 29th local time, New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated that the gunman in the shooting incident at 345 Park Avenue in Manhattan on the evening of the 28th was targeting the office of the National Football League headquarters. Adams said that investigators found a note on the shooter, Shane Tanigawa, stating that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy. This is a neurodegenerative disease related to head trauma, commonly seen in veterans and athletes, including football players, hockey players, and boxers. Adams said that, according to the preliminary investigation, the gunman attempted to go to the NFL headquarters but took the elevator to the wrong floor, ending up on the 33rd floor where the Rudin Management company is located, where he carried out another shooting before committing suicide.
