According to the Water Resources Department of Shanxi Province, the current local heavy rainfall in Shanxi Province is showing a trend of frequent and severe occurrences, with some rivers experiencing major flooding. Especially in the northern and central parts of Shanxi, continuous rainfall has saturated the soil, increasing the likelihood of flash floods caused by local heavy rainfall and the probability of basin-wide flooding. The flood prevention situation is severe. In order to prevent the current heavy rainfall, Shanxi Province has requested all areas to pay close attention to the flash floods caused by heavy rainfall at night, issue warnings to villages and households, and evacuate promptly in case of emergencies to ensure the safety of the people. Strictly control flood control in river channels, enhance the release of flood warning information in river channels, and strengthen safety measures along riverbanks in coordination with relevant departments. Fully ensure the safety of reservoirs, embankments, key sections of rivers, ongoing projects, and water-related tourist areas, intensify inspections and defense at key locations such as dams and spillways, and operate the empty reservoirs in dangerous situations. Strengthen information sharing, coordinate and collaborate between upstream and downstream banks, communicate in a timely manner with Inner Mongolia and Hebei Province, and form a united force. In addition, strengthen public opinion guidance, increase the dissemination of weather conditions and flood prevention and risk evasion knowledge through radio, television, the internet, and new media, allowing the public to timely understand the rainfall, water conditions, and flood situation, and enhance awareness of proactive flood prevention and self-evacuation.
