48 trapped elderly people rescued at the Beijing Miyun Taishitun Township Elderly Care Center

Recently, Beijing has experienced heavy rainfall, leading to the risk of flash floods. At 6:44 am on July 28, the Beijing Fire Rescue General Team received a report: the Yanting Elderly Care Center in Taishitun Town, Miyun District was surrounded by floodwaters, with people trapped inside. The Fire Rescue General Team initiated an emergency response, dispatching firefighters from Miyun, Special Operations, and Development Zone, as well as fire trucks and rescue boats to the scene. Around 11 am, the fire assault boat broke through the barriers and entered the scene to continue the rescue operation. By 12:45 pm, after several hours of efforts, the Beijing Fire Department successfully rescued 48 trapped individuals from the elderly care center.
