Ministry of Ecology and Environment: Overall improvement in air and surface water quality in China in the first half of the year.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a routine press conference this morning. It was introduced at the meeting that in the first half of this year, the overall air and surface water quality in China continued to improve. In terms of air quality, in the first half of the year, the average proportion of good air quality days in 339 cities at or above the prefectural level nationwide was 83.8%, an increase of 1 percentage point compared to the same period last year, and the national average concentration of PM2.5 was 32.1 micrograms per cubic meter, a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous year.
