The State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences on the morning of "High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan." Relevant officials from the State Administration of Taxation stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's business environment continued to improve, and the tax business environment also continued to improve. Hu Jinglin, the director of the State Administration of Taxation, introduced that the tax department has implemented a series of measures to simplify, facilitate, and streamline tax payment, reducing tax filing materials by 50% and paper materials submission by more than 25% for taxpayers. 97% of tax matters and 99% of tax declaration matters can be handled online or on mobile platforms. By 2024, according to the World Bank's assessment of the business environment, China's tax indicators have improved rapidly. Compared with the last assessment in 2019, China has reduced the annual tax payment time for enterprises by 78.2%, ranking at the forefront among countries. China's tax business environment has achieved positive progress in marketization, legalization, and internationalization.
