On July 26, the Minister of Science and Technology, Yin Hejun, attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-level Meeting on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai, and chaired the High-level Meeting on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence. Yin Hejun pointed out that artificial intelligence profoundly affects the world, and the governance of artificial intelligence has become an important issue concerning the fate of all mankind. China actively embraces intelligent transformation, coordinates development with security, promotes the development of artificial intelligence technology with a high degree of responsibility, continuously improves its own governance system for artificial intelligence, effectively promotes global cooperation in the governance of artificial intelligence, and promotes artificial intelligence to better benefit humanity. Yin Hejun proposed suggestions for strengthening international governance and cooperation on artificial intelligence, including promoting benevolent intelligence, fostering inclusiveness and benefit-sharing, deepening technological cooperation, and accumulating governance consensus. During the meeting, Yin Hejun also briefly met with representatives from Algeria's Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Small Businesses, Zambia's Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Kala, and the United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Olai Mai, among other participating countries.
