Hardcore provincial grain saving, our country's grain machinery harvesting has reduced losses by over 50 billion kilograms in three years.

The International Conference on Food Loss and Waste in 2025 was held in Jinan, Shandong from July 24th to 26th. Reporters learned at the conference that in recent years, China has solidly promoted the reduction of food loss and waste throughout the entire food chain, achieving significant results. In terms of mechanical harvesting loss, in 2024, the loss rates of wheat, rice, and corn, the three main cereals in China, were 0.93%, 1.76%, and 2.06% respectively, which was 1 to 2 percentage points lower than in 2021, resulting in a total reduction of over 50 billion kilograms of food loss in the past three years.
