Guangdong advocates taking 3 minutes to clear stagnant water every day.
Recently, the official website of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission issued a proposal from the Office of the Guangdong Patriotic Health Association to launch the "Clean up stagnant water and eliminate mosquitoes, build a healthy home together" patriotic health movement. The proposal suggests regular cleaning of stagnant water in households, workplaces, and communities. It specifically mentions that every household should take action, spending three minutes each day flipping containers and pouring out water, clearing stagnant water from flower pots, water dispensers, coffee machines, tea trays, as well as unused containers such as pots, jars, bottles, buckets, and old tires. Water plants should have their water changed every 3-5 days, containers and plant roots should be cleaned, containers should be covered or sealed in a physical manner, and stagnant water from plants such as banana leaves and bamboo cuts should be removed to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs.
