According to the latest consultation and assessment by the Ministry of Water Resources, in the coming days, the risk of ice-dammed lake outburst floods in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and surrounding areas is increasing, making the situation for flood and drought disaster prevention complex and severe. It is understood that the flash floods caused by ice-dammed lake outburst have strong suddenness, high difficulty in monitoring, warning and defense. In response to the impact of recent ice-dammed lake outburst in Tibet, Xinjiang and other areas on downstream river channels, water conservancy hub projects, important infrastructure, etc., the Ministry of Water Resources has actively carried out defense work.
