American electric car manufacturer Lucid has formed a battery materials alliance with multiple key mineral producers in the United States called "MINAC." At the time of the alliance's establishment, the American automotive industry is facing increasing pressure to ensure reliable and ethically sourced rare earths, nickel, graphite, manganese, and other key minerals. These minerals are core materials in lithium-ion batteries, which most electric vehicles rely on for propulsion. The collaboration aims to reduce dependence on foreign supply chains and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities in the United States.
