The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization has issued the "Action Plan for High-Quality Development of Shanghai's Next-Generation Display Industry." It pointed out the need to expand the advantage of display chips, enhance the technical level of display driver chips for applications in the metaverse, smart terminals, car-mounted displays, etc. It supports the development of Micro LED chips in areas such as large-size epitaxy, high pixel density structure, and quantum dot full-colorization throughout the entire technology chain. It aims to increase the market size of small and medium-sized flexible display drivers, accelerate the penetration of 4K and 8K ultra-high-definition display drivers, enhance the processing technology capabilities of high-end display driver wafers, and continuously expand processing capacity. It promotes cooperation between chip manufacturers, panel factories, and terminals to research and develop technologies such as image compensation and real-time zone control. It also supports the research and industrialization of smart glasses main control chips to accelerate market expansion.
