From yesterday daytime to this morning, there was widespread heavy rain and locally severe rainfall in the coastal areas of Fujian Province. Longhai in Fujian broke the record for the highest daily rainfall in history. According to the forecast from the Fujian Provincial Meteorological Observatory, there will be heavy to torrential rain in parts of the coastal areas during the day and night today. Zhangzhou and Xiamen cities will experience mostly heavy to severe rain, with total rainfall of 50-120 millimeters in 24 hours, and up to 200 millimeters in some areas; other areas will also have heavy to torrential rain. The Fujian Provincial Flood Control and Drought Resistance Headquarters will maintain a level III emergency response for flood control. The Fujian Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Fujian Provincial Meteorological Observatory jointly issued an orange warning for geological disaster meteorological risk at 8:53 on July 22.
