US Transportation Secretary: Upgrading the air traffic control system still lacks $19 billion.

On July 16th local time, US Transportation Secretary DeVos said that the Trump administration still needs $19 billion to fully upgrade the air traffic control system. On May 21st, the CEOs of several US airlines released a joint letter, stating that the US air traffic control system is "failing the American people." They urged Congress to take action quickly and approve funding for the modernization of the air traffic control system. This joint letter was signed by American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Alaska Airlines, Atlas Air, as well as FedEx and UPS. The letter stated that the technology of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States is "seriously outdated." With the summer travel season approaching, they called for action to be taken promptly.
