Playing "word games" before the quota red line: Saudi Arabia modifies the calculation method for crude oil statistics.
Saudi Arabia has adopted a new measurement standard to report its crude oil production for June, aligning it with quota requirements. According to the latest OPEC monthly report, the country's "market supply" last month was 9.36 million barrels per day, while actual crude oil production was 9.75 million barrels per day. Analysts at the Dutch International Group stated, "Saudi Arabia has changed its reporting method to market supply rather than actual production figures. Without this adjustment, Saudi Arabia's daily crude oil production in June would exceed its production target by 385,000 barrels."
