The domestically-produced regional jet C909 has been in operation with China Southern Airlines for five years. The C909 aircraft is the first domestically-developed medium-range new turboprop regional jet with independent intellectual property rights in accordance with international airworthiness standards. Over the past five years, the commercial operation of the domestically-produced regional jet C909 has continued to mature, and the airline has initially formed a networked operation pattern for the C909 aircraft model. On July 15, 2020, the first C909 aircraft of China Southern Airlines landed at Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, marking the beginning of a new commercial operation journey for China Southern Airlines. Over the past five years, China Southern Airlines' C909 aircraft has operated more than 230 routes, including Guangzhou-Jieyang, Guangzhou-Wuhan, and Wuhan-Xi'an, covering routes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and revolutionary old areas, serving a total of over 4.4 million passengers.
