On July 11th, local time, BASF announced its preliminary financial data for the second quarter of 2025. The sales revenue decreased by 2.1% year-on-year to 15.77 billion euros; the EBITDA, excluding special items, was 1.77 billion euros, compared to 1.96 billion euros in the same period last year; the net profit was 0.8 billion euros, down from 4.3 billion euros in the same period last year, mainly due to a significant increase in income tax expenses and a decrease in equity investment income. BASF expects weaker profitability in 2025 than previously expected and has adjusted its full-year guidance: EBITDA, excluding special items, for the full year of 2025 is expected to be between 7.3 billion euros and 7.7 billion euros (previously forecasted to be between 8.0 billion euros and 8.4 billion euros).
