Cross-border RMB loans from Bank of Communications Shenzhen Branch: Empowering China-Pakistan "Belt and Road" Energy Cooperation.
Recently, the Shenzhen branch of Bank of Communications successfully assisted CGN Brazil in completing a milestone cross-border RMB commercial loan project - the LAGOINHA photovoltaic power generation construction project, injecting strong momentum into energy cooperation between China and Brazil under the "Belt and Road" framework. This project is located in the state of Cear in northeastern Brazil and is the first photovoltaic greenfield project invested and built by CGN in Brazil. After the project is fully put into operation, it is expected to generate 420 million kWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the daily electricity needs of 240,000 Brazilian households, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 300,000 tons per year, which has profound significance for promoting the development of green energy in Brazil and addressing climate change. The term of this cross-border RMB loan is 5 years. Compared with traditional Brazilian real direct financing in the current Brazilian market interest rate environment, the RMB direct loan business significantly reduces the financial costs for CGN Brazil.
