Minister of Health of the Congo: Cholera outbreak in the country has entered the "acute stage"
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Congo, Kanba, stated in the capital Kinshasa on the 10th that the country's cholera epidemic has entered the "acute stage" and the number of infections is still rising. Kanba said at a press conference on that day that since January 2025, more than 33,000 cases of cholera have been reported nationwide, with a mortality rate of about 2%. He said that there are currently 17 provinces in the country reporting cases of cholera, an increase of 3 provinces from before, indicating that the epidemic is spreading rapidly to a larger area.
