The Minister of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kanba, stated in the capital Kinshasa on the 10th that the country's cholera epidemic has entered an "acute phase" and the number of infections is still rising. Kanba said at the press conference held that day that since January 2025, a total of more than 33,000 cholera cases have been reported nationwide, with a death rate of about 2%. He said that currently, 17 provinces in the country have reported cholera cases, with three more provinces reporting cases compared to the previous day, indicating that the epidemic is rapidly spreading to a larger area.
