Merck (MRK.US) to Acquire Verona Pharma (VRNA.US) for $10 Billion to Strengthen Respiratory Therapy Business.

According to the 36Kr Finance and Economics APP, Merck (MRK.US) announced on Wednesday that they plan to acquire the British company Verona Pharmaceuticals (VRNA.US) for approximately $10 billion in order to strengthen their respiratory system treatment business and reduce their reliance on their blockbuster cancer treatment drugs.
