Erdogan announced that Turkey will hold presidential elections in 2028.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in Ankara during a speech to members of his party that parliamentary elections and presidential elections in Turkey will be held as scheduled in 2028. He said that the government will "make full use of" the 5-year term given by the 2023 elections, until the end of the term. Local elections will be held in 2029.
