Citi analysts say that Trump's tariffs are a watershed for the copper market. They wrote in a report that Trump's tariffs will suddenly close the window for exporting copper to the US, perhaps for the remaining time until 2025. As inventories diminish and are replaced by domestic production, import demand will collapse.
