Indonesian economic officials will meet with officials from Besent and Lutenik to discuss tariff issues.

Haryo Limanseto, spokesperson for the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, stated at a press conference on Wednesday that Minister Airlangga Hartarto plans to meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Benson, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and U.S. Trade Representative in Washington. Limanseto said that Indonesia has signed multiple trade and investment memoranda of understanding, which can serve as lubricants for tariff negotiations. Indonesia expressed surprise at the tariffs announced earlier this week by U.S. President Donald Trump, but hopes that negotiations will yield positive results.
