Goldman Sachs said that in light of the rising risk of the United States imposing a 50% tariff on copper imports, it is expected that copper shipments to the United States in the coming weeks will accelerate. Analysts like Eoin Dinsmore wrote in a report on July 9th that the motivation for traders to export to the United States before the tariffs are implemented has increased. They said they are maintaining their expectation for the LME copper price to reach $9,700 per ton by December 25th, but the risk of copper prices breaking $10,000 in the third quarter has now decreased.
