Research predicts that Helicobacter pylori will cause over tens of millions of gastric cancer cases.

A study published in Nature Medicine on the 7th revealed that out of the global population born between 2008 and 2017, an estimated 15.8 million people may develop stomach cancer at some point in their lifetime, with 76% of cases being linked to Helicobacter pylori. Scientists are calling for increased investment in stomach cancer prevention, particularly through population-wide screening and treatment plans for Helicobacter pylori, in order to reduce the global burden of stomach cancer.
