US Treasury Secretary Benson will lead a delegation to visit Japan next week to attend the World Expo.
Informed sources revealed that US Treasury Secretary Scott Benett plans to travel to Japan next week to attend the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. The World Expo will continue until mid-October, with the US celebrating its national day on July 19th at the Expo. President Trump issued a tariff letter to Japan on Monday, planning to increase tariffs on all Japanese goods imported to the US to 25% starting from August 1st, slightly higher than the initially announced 24% in April. This will also be Benett's first visit to Japan since the trade negotiations began in April. Ryosei Akasawa, responsible for trade negotiations in Tokyo, has visited Washington seven times during this period.
