The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore conditionally approved the proposed cooperation plan between Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines after accepting commitments from the applicants. The proposed commitments include maintaining their weekly seat capacity at existing levels before the proposed cooperation begins. Additionally, both airlines will propose increasing capacity levels when certain performance targets are met. The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore considered market developments, including the impending permanent cessation of Jetstar Asia Airways, and concluded that the proposed commitments address their concerns regarding competition. The Malaysian Aviation Commission has not yet approved this commercial arrangement between Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines.
