On July 6th, local time, the Sudanese Armed Forces announced that the Abu Shouk refugee camp on the outskirts of the capital of North Darfur state, Fashir, was shelled, resulting in the deaths of 5 civilians. The Sudanese Armed Forces accused the Rapid Support Forces of carrying out the shelling, claiming that the militia deliberately targeted the Abu Shouk refugee camp, destroying civilian facilities within the camp and causing casualties. The Rapid Support Forces did not respond to these accusations.
