President Trump of the United States: I am saddened to see Elon Musk completely "derail" in the past five weeks, almost like a "train wreck." The Republican Party is a well-functioning "machine", having just passed the largest bill of its kind in American history. It is a great bill, but unfortunately for Elon, it abolishes the absurd electric car mandate a policy that previously attempted to force everyone to buy electric cars in a short period of time, a policy I strongly opposed from the beginning. Now people can freely purchase any vehicle they want: gasoline cars, high-performance hybrid cars, or new technology cars that may appear in the future there is no longer a requirement for electric cars. I have been advocating for this for two years, and honestly, when Elon unconditionally supported me, I asked him if he knew I would abolish the electric car mandate something I mentioned in every speech and conversation.
