Beijing will increase the commercial area by more than 390,000 square meters.
In the first half of this year, highlights of the Beijing consumer market have been frequent. According to the "Review and Outlook of the Beijing Real Estate Market in the First Half of 2025" released by Savills yesterday, urban renewal projects have dominated the new supply of retail properties in Beijing this year. In the first half of the year, 240,000 square meters of commercial space were added, with an expected additional 390,000 square meters of retail properties to open in the second half of the year. Savills analysis shows that in terms of new store demand in the first half of the year, restaurants still account for 48% of new store openings. Meanwhile, the sports and outdoor categories remain strong, with Anta Superstore opening in Changping and Decathlon taking over the former Armani flagship store in Huamao Center. Jewelry stores continue to open actively, with brands like POPOP under Pao Pao Mart and the new image store of Chow Tai Fook Ge-Vin opening their first stores in Guomao Shopping Mall recently.
