Ministry of Water Resources: will accelerate the construction of the national backbone water network.

Zhang Xiangwei, director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Water Resources, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that the Ministry of Water Resources will aim for a "comprehensive, safe and reliable, efficient and green, intelligent, smooth circulation, and orderly regulation" target. The ministry will accelerate the construction of national water network backbone projects, especially major water projects such as the Sichuan Integrated Large-scale Comprehensive Drainage System and the Liaodong Peninsula Water Resources Allocation Phase I. It will promote the integration and development of water networks at all levels, accelerate the construction of a safe and resilient modern water network, optimize water resources allocation, and enhance water resources distribution and supply security capabilities.
