The Japanese yen fell by 0.9% on Non-Farm Payrolls day and once dropped below 145.

On Thursday, in the New York session, the US dollar rose by 0.93% against the Japanese yen, to 144.99 yen. The intraday trading range was between 143.45 and 145.23 yen. At 20:30 Beijing time, after the release of the US non-farm payroll report, the currency pair broke out of its earlier narrow range and quickly rose from around 143.80 yen to above 145 yen. The euro rose by 0.55% against the Japanese yen, while the pound rose by 1.03%. The euro fell by 0.39% against the US dollar, but the pound rose by 0.09%. The US dollar rose by 0.43% against the Swiss franc. Among the commodity currencies, the Australian dollar fell by 0.21% against the US dollar, the New Zealand dollar fell by 0.36%, and the Canadian dollar fell by 0.04%. The Swedish Krona fell by 0.81% against the US dollar, and the Norwegian Krona fell by 0.03%. The Danish Krona fell by 0.38% against the US dollar and by 0.38% against the euro. The Polish Zloty rose by 0.15% against the US dollar and by 0.53% against the euro.
