The expansion pace of U.S. service providers was slow in June, benefiting from the rebound in business activities and orders, despite the largest drop in employment index in three months. The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) said on Thursday that its service sector index rose nearly 1 point last month to 50.8. In May, the index contracted for the first time in nearly a year. Business activities returned to the expansion range after a month of stagnation. Orders also increased, but at a more moderate pace.
