In June, the French service sector showed signs of stabilization.
A survey released on Thursday showed signs of stabilization in the French service sector in June, with the rate of contraction in business activity falling to its lowest level in 9 months. The final HCOB France Services PMI for June rose from 48.9 in May to 49.6, indicating only a slight decrease in activity in the industry. The final value was higher than the preliminary value of 48.7. Senior economist at Hamburg Commercial Bank, Jonas Feldhusen, stated that the survey showed growth in new export orders and increased business confidence, although the uncertainty surrounding US President Trump's tariffs may dampen market sentiment. Business confidence among French service providers significantly improved in June. The easing of inflation pressures and accommodative monetary policy will support household consumption and business investment in the coming year.
