Hainan sees the first national case of intellectual property infringement liability insurance.
On July 2nd, according to the Hainan Financial Regulatory Bureau, the bureau guided an insurance company within its jurisdiction to launch the first nationwide intellectual property infringement liability insurance, pioneering a dual protection system of "domestic infringement liability + overseas infringement liability". This system provides coverage for economic compensation liability and legal fees incurred by a pharmaceutical company in Hainan during the manufacturing, use, sale, import and export processes domestically and internationally, resulting from infringement of third-party intellectual property rights. Additionally, it incorporates the risk protection needs of domestic trademark infringement liability and other urgent risks for enterprises into the insurance coverage, achieving for the first time comprehensive coverage of intellectual property infringement risks both domestically and internationally.
