According to the official determination of the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province at 18:48 on June 23, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located in Yuantan Town, Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, 5 kilometers from the People's Government of Yuantan Town, 15 kilometers from the urban area of Qingcheng District, Qingyuan City, 14 kilometers from the urban area of Qingyuan City, and 55 kilometers from Guangzhou City. According to phone calls with relevant departments in Guangzhou, Qingyuan, and other cities, Qingyuan City felt the earthquake strongly, while other areas such as Guangzhou also felt it, but no reports of casualties or property damage have been received yet. The provincial earthquake bureau has initiated a level 4 earthquake emergency response, and the Guangzhou Earthquake Monitoring Center, Shaoguan Earthquake Monitoring Center, and the Qingyuan City Emergency Management Bureau have formed a onsite working group to understand the situation at the epicenter.
