According to the Associated Press, French Foreign Minister Barro stated that France did not participate in the US strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. Barro said on social media on the 22nd that France was "concerned to learn" about the US military actions against three Iranian nuclear facilities, "France neither participated in these attacks, nor participated in the planning process for the attacks." Barro also stated that France "urges all parties to exercise restraint to avoid escalating the situation and prolonging the conflict." Barro also reaffirmed France's opposition to Iran obtaining nuclear weapons. "France firmly believes that a lasting solution to this issue needs to be negotiated within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty," he said, "France is ready to contribute to this at any time with its partners." On the same day, a spokesperson for the German government stated that German Chancellor Merkel called on Iran to immediately resume nuclear negotiations with the US in order to find a diplomatic solution. According to the BBC, after the US launched airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, UK Prime Minister Stamer urged Iran to resume nuclear negotiations and to address the escalating regional conflicts through diplomatic means. Stamer wrote on the social platform X, "Iran's nuclear program poses a serious threat to international security. We will never allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, and the US has taken action to mitigate this threat." He added, "We urge Iran to return to the negotiating table and resolve this crisis through diplomatic means." Indian Prime Minister Modi stated that he had a conversation with Iranian President Pezeshkyan regarding the US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Modi wrote on social media, "We once again call for an immediate de-escalation of the situation, promote the development of the situation through dialogue and diplomatic means, and restore regional peace, security, and stability as soon as possible."
