On June 20, Wang Yanshi, Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangzhou, conducted on-site research at the station of Pupu supermarket and the Guangzhou office of Meituan to understand the implementation of the "Guangzhou Electric Bicycle Management Regulations" by instant delivery platform companies. She also chaired a forum with instant delivery platform companies and industry associations to listen to reports and discuss work deployment. During the forum, the person in charge of the Supervisory and Judicial Committee of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the city reported on the issues involving platform delivery riders found during the enforcement inspections of the "Guangzhou Electric Bicycle Management Regulations." The person in charge of the city's Market Supervision and Administration Bureau reported on the supervision and management of instant delivery platform companies' responsibilities in safety management. The person in charge of the Traffic Police Detachment of the Public Security Bureau reported on the enforcement situation involving instant delivery platform companies and riders. Representatives from instant delivery industry associations, as well as Meituan, Ele.me, Dada, Hema Fresh, and Pupu respectively, introduced the implementation of regulations and made suggestions on how to further strengthen the safety management of electric bicycles for food delivery riders, issuing and using special license plates, safety education for food delivery riders, and the application of smart technology.
