Shanghai: The scale of the Changxing Island ship and marine equipment industry is expected to exceed 120 billion yuan by 2027.

By 2027, the scale of the ship and marine engineering equipment industry on Changxing Island will exceed 120 billion yuan, accounting for about 70% of the total city's share. At the second China LNG Ship Industry Chain Development Conference and the 2025 Shanghai Huadong Chinese Supplier Conference held yesterday, it was announced that the "Implementation Plan for Building a World-Class Modern Shipbuilding Base on Changxing Island, Shanghai" and the "Several Policy Measures to Support the Construction of a World-Class Modern Shipbuilding Base on Changxing Island, Shanghai" have been issued. It proposed to promote the construction of five world-class highlands and initially build a world-class modern shipbuilding base showcasing large LNG carriers, aircraft carriers, large cruise ships, and the world-class "Changxing Manufacturing" heavy equipment, leading Shanghai to establish a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster for ships and marine engineering equipment, serving to strengthen and enhance the integrated national strategic system capabilities.
