The journalist learned from the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that as of June 20th, the total area sown in summer in our province reached 88.21 million mu, accounting for 98% of the expected area. Aside from some late-sown soybeans, short-growing period miscellaneous grains, and relay vegetables that are still being sown, the summer sowing season in the province has basically ended. This year, due to weather factors, the wheat harvest period in our province is 3 to 5 days earlier than previous years, which has won time for early planting of autumn grains. The summer sowing work in the province started on a large scale on May 28th and has basically been completed to date, keeping pace with the normal progress of previous years. Along with spring sowing, the autumn grain planting area in our province this year continues to remain stable at over 76 million mu, laying a solid foundation for stable production and increased income for the whole year. In the summer sowing operation, agricultural mechanization and intelligence have become the standout "stars." This year, the province has invested in 850,000 units of sowing machinery, including 87,000 units of single-grain precision sowing machinery, an increase of 19,000 units, and over 40,300 tractors with Beidou-assisted driving systems installed, with an increase of over 5,000 units. The widespread promotion of technologies such as single-grain accurate seeding, maize planting at proper density, and integrated water and fertilizer technologies such as drip irrigation and micro-spraying has effectively improved the quality and efficiency of sowing.
