Hong Kong Stock Exchange celebrates its 25th anniversary with a special event.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) held a celebration event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on the 20th anniversary of its establishment. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, congratulated HKEX on its 25th anniversary in a video address. She stated that HKEX, as the heart of the Hong Kong financial industry, has been instrumental in driving the development and prosperity of Hong Kong over the past quarter of a century. At the same time, HKEX has strengthened Hong Kong's role as a "super connector" and "super value-added" partner, and has taken various measures to deepen the connectivity between the capital markets of the mainland and Hong Kong. She expressed that in the face of the challenges brought by the current global situation, the SAR government will work closely with HKEX and regulatory bodies to enhance market liquidity. The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Paul Chan, also delivered a speech at the event, highlighting the role that HKEX has played in supporting the opening up of the mainland financial markets. He commended HKEX for its ongoing reform initiatives that continue to create value and opportunities for market participants. He expressed his hope that HKEX will continue to leverage its advantages in connectivity, innovate boldly, improve market infrastructure, and enhance trading efficiency.
