Since June 13th, Israel has launched large-scale air strikes on multiple locations in Iran, bombing Iranian nuclear facilities, attracting a high level of international attention. The general director of the Russian national nuclear energy corporation warned at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on the 19th that an attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran could lead to a disaster comparable to the Chernobyl nuclear accident. He also called on Israel not to entertain any thoughts of attacking the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
