The German Ministry of Economy expressed regret on June 20, 2025 that ArcelorMittal has decided not to proceed with two key hydrogen energy steel projects in Germany. The project was originally eligible for approximately 1.3 billion euros (approximately $1.5 billion) in funding from the German government.
