Wan Tai Biotech announced that the freeze-dried varicella attenuated live vaccine developed by the company has initiated Phase III clinical trials and completed the enrollment of the first subject. This vaccine is used for preventing varicella and can stimulate the body to produce immunity against varicella-zoster virus. The strain of the virus used in the vaccine is a recombinant varicella-zoster virus with a defect in the virulence gene ORF7 constructed using reverse genetics technology, which has better safety. The main purpose of the Phase III clinical trial is to evaluate the protective efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity of the vaccine in the 1-12 year old population, and the progress is currently smooth.
