The meteorological department of Jiangsu Province issued a yellow warning for heavy rain at 9:19 on the 19th. It is expected that from the night of the 19th to the 20th, areas including Nanjing, the northern part of Nantong, Huai'an, Yancheng, Yangzhou, the northern part of Zhenjiang, Taizhou, and Suqian will experience strong rainfall of over 50 millimeters within 24 hours. In some areas of Nanjing, Huai'an, Yancheng, Yangzhou, and Taizhou, the precipitation may exceed 100 millimeters, with locally accompanying thunderstorms, short-term heavy rainfall, and thunderstorm gusts of wind and other severe convective weather, reminding people to be vigilant. According to the Jiangsu Provincial Meteorological Observatory, from the 19th to the 21st, there will be heavy rainfall in the Jianghuai region, and locally there may be extremely heavy rainfall. This round of rainfall will last for a long time, and the local accumulated rainfall will be significant. Meteorological experts remind the public to strengthen precautions against secondary disasters such as landslides and debris flows that may be caused by heavy rainfall, increase awareness of electric shock and lightning strikes, and pay attention to preventing falling objects from high altitudes.
