On June 19, Zhuang Qianzhi, Vice Chairman and President of China Re Group, stated at the 2025 Lujiazui Forum's special session on "High-quality Development of Reinsurance" that reinsurance is the insurance for insurance. Unlike the primary insurance industry, reinsurance solves the "last mile" problem of risk management, with characteristics of high risk diversification, international business operations, and market-based risk pricing. Through reinsurance ceding and retrocession, catastrophic risks, special risks, and complex risks that insurance companies cannot or locally cannot insure can become globally insurable and globally diversified, thereby improving the efficiency of the insurance market.
