The Three Gorges Ship Lock has been navigable for 22 years and has handled more than 2.2 billion tons of freight.

On the 18th, the Three Gorges Ship Lock celebrated its 22nd anniversary of operation. According to the Yangtze River Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Ministry of Transport, since officially opening to navigation on June 18, 2003, the Three Gorges Ship Lock has accumulated 215,000 lockages, accommodated over 1.074 million vessels, served more than 12.291 million passengers, and transported 2.24 billion tons of goods. It has greatly contributed to unlocking the "golden benefits" of the Yangtze River's "golden waterway".
