People's Daily Review: Banning improper eating and drinking does not mean all eating and drinking is improper.
People's Daily article stated that deepening rectification of violations related to eating and drinking is a necessary choice to promote clean governance and discipline. However, in the execution process, some places have "layered on" restrictions, equating "prohibiting violations related to eating and drinking" with a complete ban on eating and drinking. This behavior is lazy governance and a form of formalism, causing businesses to lose business and dimming the livelihoods of the people. When implementing regulations, it is important to strictly differentiate between violations related to eating and drinking and legitimate dining needs. We must adhere to the ironclad rule of "zero tolerance for corruption" while also ensuring the livelihoods of the people are not negatively impacted. On one hand, we must strictly crack down on corrupt practices such as public funds being used for dining and wasteful consumption. On the other hand, we need to promote normal consumption and allow people to enjoy delicious food, making cities more vibrant and increasing the warmth of human relationships.
