Russia says the United States has canceled the new round of bilateral talks between Russia and the United States.

Russia has stated that the United States has cancelled a planned new round of bilateral consultations aimed at eliminating "irritants" in the relationship between the two countries and restoring the work of the two countries' diplomatic missions. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova posted on Telegram on Monday that Moscow "hopes that the pause will not be too long" but did not specify the reason for the cancellation of the consultations. The US State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
