The Baltic Dry Index hits an eight-month high
On Monday, the Baltic Dry Index rose to an eight-month high, driven by increases in all vessel type indices. The Baltic Dry Index increased by 7 points, or 0.4%, to 1975 points, its highest level since October 2nd of last year. The Capesize index rose by 9 points, or 0.2%, to 3731 points, its highest level since July 2024. Capesize vessels saw a daily profit increase of $78 to $30,944. The Panamax index rose by 9 points, or 0.6%, to 1410 points, reaching its highest level in over ten weeks. Panamax vessels saw a daily profit increase of $84 to $12,694. The Supramax index rose by 3 points to 939 points, its highest level in nearly two weeks. The Handysize index rose by 3 points to 607 points.
